Nonprofit Web Stores started like many other businesses. We saw a need and figured out a way to fill it. Nonprofits need to increase awareness for their organizations and missions. We think we hit the nail on the head!
It all began when our company, sports agency, Wisse, Hollmann & Co. was doing pro bono work for the Global Water Foundation, a nonprofit founded by my buddy, South African tennis pro, Johan Kriek, that provides sustainable sources of clean water to people around the world who desperately need it. One of our recommendations was to create an online store so supporters could buy cool Global Water Foundation shirts and hats and generate more awareness for the nonprofit. The staff at the Global Water Foundation had their hands full trying to achieve their mission so they certainly didn’t have the time or the inclination to manage such a program in-house. In addition, the cost of buying thousands of items in bulk that had to be warehoused and shipped as orders came in, made that option untenable.
We researched the alternatives and found no existing companies that met our standards of excellent quality, reasonable prices, simple and secure credit card and PayPal ordering, quick digital printing and embroidery turnaround with minimum order of one item, reliable order fulfillment and shipping as well as good customer service.
We were fortunate enough to be referred to a company that happens to be located right in our own backyard. Solid Printwear of Garner, NC, with the latest technology, agreed to use their systems to print or embroider one item at a time as online orders came in. We then explored and made the investment in newly developed proprietary software that allows us to build stores in a matter of hours, to provide a secure payment gateway for customer orders, track orders and facilitate shipping direct to the buyer. We formed a partnership with SolidPrintwear and built the Global Water Foundation Store.
It became obvious that since we had the technology and systems in place to do one store for a nonprofit, we should offer our program to others that might want online stores. Since I am a former rugby player, we started with our friends among the 3,000 amateur, nonprofit rugby clubs in the US. The response was overwhelming. Scrumbot.com is now the number one provider of online stores for rugby clubs in the U.S. We are partnering with new rugby clubs all the time and have expanded to other areas where we saw nonprofits with similar needs.
Our deal is simple: We build nonprofit organizations FREE online stores, which they link to their home page. We work with the organizations to design their custom apparel. All we need is their logo and some idea of how they would like their apparel designed.
We handle all the costs and hassle and there is NEVER any cost to our nonprofit partners.
BULK ITEMS FOR FUNDRAISING - We offer special pricing on bulk items, so if organizations want a special t-shirt for an upcoming event, they can order 25, 50, 100, 1,000 or 100,000 to sell as a fundraiser.
The Scrumbot.com factory/design shop/warehouse/fulfillment center is located in Raleigh and Garner, NC. We offer a 100% satisfaction-guaranteed policy. If any customer is unhappy with his order, we will gladly provide a full refund.
We look forward to helping your nonprofit increase awareness by providing unique branded apparel and help you raise funds for your good works. Call me or email me if we can help.
Sincerely,
Jay Wisse, CEO
